Chris Pratt is fitter than ever after his 80-pound weight loss with a low-carb Paleo style diet and CrossFit workouts. The 6-foot-2 Pratt, who once weighed 280 pounds, said weight loss dramatically improved his life in every way.

"My bones ached, I had cardiovascular issues [when I was fat]," Chris told GQ May 18. "I was unhealthy. I was feeling rotten. I didn't feel too great about who I was."

Pratt said he often discussed his weight loss struggles with his wife, actress Anna Faris, who was very supportive. "I wish my body wasn't like this," Chris recalled telling Anna. "I don't want to be like this."

Pratt joked that Faris not only accepted him when he was obese, but liked him better because he was more fun.

"Probably in many ways she preferred me that way," said Chris. "I was more fun to be around, probably. Now I have less fun. I focus more. She doesn't get to cook for me the way she used to. I was like a great pet fat guy."

Chris unveiled his jaw-dropping 80-pound weight loss after following a low-carb, Paleo-style diet and doing CrossFit workouts and triathlon training, Celebrity Health reported.

Pratt's eye-popping transformation was the result of the rigorous training regimen he undertook to play Peter Quill in the 2014 film, "Guardians of the Galaxy."

Chris said becoming ripped took a lot of dedication but was worth the effort. "You have to eat protein," said Pratt. "You can't have hash browns, or burgers, or anything fried. You can't have carbs. You have to work out five times a week."

Pratt said triathlon training, weightlifting, P90X and CrossFit workouts totally reshaped his body. "I did a training for a triathlon in terms of swimming, biking, running," said Chris. "I also did weights and CrossFit high-intensity interval training, jogging and straight body-building: Pull ups, push ups, P90X. I did about four hours a day for maybe five months."

In April 2015, Pratt completed his first Ironman half-triathlon to raise money for injured military heroes. The once-sedentary Chris finished the Ironman 70.3 Florida triathlon in an impressive time of 7 hours, 4 minutes and 52 seconds.

'I Have More Energy, I Sleep Better Now'

While Pratt is no longer as strict with his diet and workout regimen now he's in the maintenance phase of his weight loss plan, he remains committed to staying in great shape.

Pratt is no stranger to major weight fluctuations. In 2011, Chris lost 30 pounds for the drama "Moneyball" and then, shortly afterward, regained 50 to 60 pounds for the comedy "Ten Year."

"I went from 220 pounds that I cut down for 'Moneyball' to almost 270-280 pounds for 'Ten Year,' " Pratt told Conan O'Brien in 2012. "I gained like 50 pounds to play this fat, alcoholic character."

At some point in between, Pratt got super-buff to play a Navy SEAL in the 2012 drama, "Zero Dark Thirty." After that film wrapped, Chris gained 60 pounds in four months to play an obese lawyer in the comedy "Delivery Man."

Now a father (Chris' son with actress Anna Faris was born in 2012), Pratt feels better than ever and has totally embraced a healthier lifestyle. "Blood's flowing," he said. "I'm less susceptible to impulse. I'm in a different mode. I like clothes now. I have more energy. I sleep better. My sex drive is up."

Chris Pratt isn't the only celebrity who has transformed his body with the low-carb Paleo diet and CrossFit workouts. Country superstar Tim McGraw attributed his 40-pound weight loss to CrossFit and Paleo, and now has rippling eight-pack abs for the first time in his life — at age 48.

Chris Pratt next appears in "Jurassic World," which opens June 12.
